For a while now I have been wanting to try infusing alcohols; really ever since going to the bar Firefly in Studio City, CA and trying their multiple flavors, which are so good you can drink straight…but this holiday season I finally got around to making my own, and it was well worth the effort. I made pineapple-lime vodka to give as Christmas gifts and to serve when people came over. To make infused vodka or whatever alcohol you prefer, simply chop up whatever fruit or flavors you choose, add the liquor and let sit in the refrigerator for about week. Just taste it to see when it’s ready. Here are a few other flavor possibilities you can try or mix a couple together:
-
Grapefruit
-
Orange
-
Vanilla
-
Pomegranate
- Cranberry
-
Cucumber
-
Jalapeno
-
Mint
-
Peach
-
Ginger
When it was time to bottle up the vodka, I used a french press to strain out and seeds or pulp. Store in the fridge and be careful when drinking this, because even though it tastes like juice, it’s still vodka!
What a great gift idea. I never knew it was this easy to infuse vodka!
OMG! How funny. I just posted about this being a cute stocking stuffer idea on Xmas eve.

I’m so glad to see how you did it though with the french press. yummy!!!!!!
I know I saw that! I was thinking, if she only knew her present is in my fridge haha!
ooooooh! I’m shipping y’alls presents to Stephanie at her office since she left some stuff at my house a while back AND I forgot to take the gifts to her at Wabbaseka. I CAN’T WAIT to try your concoction! You know I love a good drink (or two).
Sounds yummy — and I LOVE the bottle! For more great ideas on infusions, make sure to check out Alicia’s great recipes at Boozed and Infused (http://boozedandinfused.com/). I’ve already done a couple of hers and have more infusing as I type this! 🙂

This is something I have wanted to try. It looks so easy!
At Russian Samovar on 52nd Street, they have countless infused vodkas including coriander, horseradish, and ginger.
