On my last visit to the dermatologist, I picked up some SkinCeuticals Eye Balm for $81 that was supposed to ward off wrinkles. It came highly recommended, but I had to wonder if it was worth the hefty price compared to the $4.99 tub of cocoa butter that I have been putting on my eyes before bed for the past couple of years. I decided to put this new cream to the test. For exactly a year now, I have been using the dermatologist cream on one side and my standard cocoa butter on the other.
SkinCeuticals Eye Balm went on my left eye.
Palmers Cocoa Butter with Vitamin E went on my right eye.
Left eye squinting
Right eye
Right eye squinting
So after one year of testing, I don’t see a huge difference, but when I squint, my right side has a few more pronounced wrinkles under the eye. Waking up each morning, both eyes feel equally moisturized. So for the final verdict, was the eye balm worth the cost? I think while I am still in my twenties I may not have too much to worry about, but later on down the road, I could see it having a bigger impact and definitely being worth the money.
